Dr. McKelvey is a board-certified nephrologist with expertise in the management of chronic kidney disease (CKD), kidney transplant, resistant hypertension, glomerular disease, and kidney stone disease.  He earned a B.S. in Biochemistry in 2010 with a focus on pharmaceutical and vaccine development and went on to complete his medical degree at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2016.  Dr. McKelvey completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the Christiana Care Health System in Newark, Delaware from 2016 to 2019, before completing a Nephrology Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania in 2021.

Dr. McKelvey has additional training in Interventional Nephrology focused on the maintenance and management of dialysis access, including access planning, angiogram, vascular angioplasty and thrombectomy, hemodialysis catheter management, as well as fluoroscopic peritoneal dialysis catheter placement.

Dr. McKelvey is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) in both Internal Medicine (2019) and Nephrology (2021) and is dedicated to providing evidence-based treatments for patients with complex renal conditions.
